I thought, as a getting to know me sort of thing, I would do the 5000 questions survey. Now, I am so not doing the whole thing at once, but I will break it up into pieces to be more manageable.
Part 1
1. Who are you?
I'm Nicole and you can call me Nicole ;-)
2. What are the 3 most important things everyone should know about you?
1. I am really quiet and a bit shy, but I warm up once I get to know you better. 2. I am really sarcastic and I don't mean anything bad by it. 3. I will defend the ones I love no matter how mean I have to be.
3. When you aren't filling out 5,000 question surveys like this one what are you doing?
Reading, painting or sketching, doing crafts, cooking, planning the weekly menu, cleaning
4. List your classes in school from the ones you like the most to the ones you like the least (or if you are out of school, think of the classes you did like and didn't like at the time).
Well, I am out of school so, in high school my faves were:
Art I, II, III
Biomedical Engineering
Econ
World History
My least faves:
Geometry
Government
Art History
In college, my faves:
American Sign Language I, II, III
Acting
Criminal Law
Art
Ceramics
Art History (I hated it in HS because my teacher was a douche bag)
My least faves:
Design
Theater
English (really creepy teacher)
5. What is your biggest goal for this year?
start a family
6. Where do you want to be in 5 years?
I don't care where, I just want to be happy and my husband and I have 2 kids.
7. What stage of life are you in right now?
Um, I am in the "settled down" stage, but I've been there for awhile. I never went through the party stage. I have always felt older than my years. I am happy with my life and I am ready to have kids and have family vacations and all that jazz.
8. Are you more child-like or childish?
I guess child-like. I feel much more mature than a lot of people my age, but I also feel young at heart. I love to appreciate the little things. I do not consider myself childish. I hate people who act childish so I would rather not be a hypocrite!
9. What is the last thing you said out loud?
"Aww!" A friend texted me a cute picture
10. What song comes closest to how you feel about your life right now?
Hmmm... "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry, as cheesy as it is :-P
11. Have you ever taken martial arts classes?
Nope
12. Does your life tend to get better or worse or does it just stay the same?
It fluctuates. I think everyone's life is like that. There is always going to be good and bad.
13. Does time really heal all wounds?
Most, but not all. I think that you think about it less, but deep down it is still there. It is all about how you deal with it.
14. How do you handle a rainy day?
Like a literal rainy day? If so, I love the rain. If I am having a figurative rainy day, I just relax and do something I love to cheer myself up.
15. Which is worse...losing your luggage or having to sort out tangled holiday lights?
Losing luggage!! That is horrible
16. How is your relationship with your parents?
Great! I don't see them very much since they are several states away, but they come to visit every year and we talk on the phone.
Will you miss them when they are gone?
Of course, but that is not something I want to think about.
17. Do you tend to be aware of what is going on around you?
Yeah, hyper-aware.

What goes around, comes around.

It depended on when you asked me. It ranged from a ballerina to a nurse to a mom.

Yes.

Giver. I am really bad at being a taker
22. Do you make your decisions with an open heart/mind?
I try to, but I try to do everything with an open mind.
23. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?
Breaking my wrist when I was little. Also hurting/breaking my foot a few years ago. That was really bad initial pain. As far as worst long term pain, when I hurt my back the second time. I was in pretty bad pain for almost a year and it was pretty rough.
24. What is the most emotionally painful thing that has ever happened to you?
My grandparents dying. My grandfather (Oppie, we called him) was diagnosed with lung cancer and given 6 months to live. We knew he was going to pass. He progressively got worse very quickly. My Nana, a retired nurse, went into full caretaker mode, and it was very hard to get her to accept help from hospice. The DAY that a hospice worker came in to do his initial asscessment, my Nana slumped over from a stroke. She survived it and went into the ICU where, a few days later, had another stroke that basically made her brain dead. In that time, we got my Oppie a spot in a hospice home and managed to get my Nana in as well, same room and everything. She had another stroke that killed her on a Saturday and my Oppie passed away about 4 days later. We had a double funeral for them, and they were buried together. It was really hard since I was very close to my Nana and I was in my first year of college. I really do miss them.
25. Who have you hugged today?
Nobody yet. My husband got up for work and left while I was fast asleep, so I will get a hug from him when he gets home :-)
